The most fascinating thing about Giraffe Manor is its herd of resident Rothschild giraffe who visit morning and evening, poking their long necks into the windows in the hope of a treat, before retreating to their forest sanctuary.

As one of Nairobi’s most iconic buildings, Giraffe Manor has extraordinary appeal, that harks back to the 1930s when European visitors first flocked to East Africa to enjoy safaris.

With its stately façade, elegant interior, verdant green gardens, sunny terraces and delightful courtyards, guests often remark that it’s like walking into the film Out of Africa: indeed, one of its six suites is named after the author Karen Blixen.

Giraffe Manor can be booked for the night or as part of a complete tailor-made safari with The Safari Collection.

#6 Cinderella Castle Suite, Orlando, FL

Perhaps the most elusive hotel room in all the world, the Cinderella Castle Suite, located on the fourth floor of Cinderella’s Castle in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom, is truly the stuff dreams are made of.

Only 650 feet, the suite has two queen canopied beds, an ornate fireplace, small stained-glass windows, a 17th-century portrait of the princess that transforms into a flat-screen TV, and — of course — Cinderella’s glass slipper carefully placed in one of the foyer’s coves. A garden tub and shower can also be found in the suite.

companions to fellow guests.

Featuring 9 loft rooms with five varying themes – ‘Bling’, ‘ASCII’, ‘Space’, ‘Tree’ and ‘Typewriter’, you get to wander through a surreal fairyland to discover a giant monster holding up room lights in one room, a forest tree stuffed with friendly creatures in another, or a floor-to-ceiling rocket with friendly aliens or a giant typewriter.

Along the corridors, specially crafted lanterns cast shadows of monsters on the walls.

BONUS: Couple getaway to Free Spirit Spheres, Canada

Named Melody, this sphere room hangs suspended in the middle of the forest. The walnut interior has a spacious open living concept. She has 5 windows, including a sky light, a small sink, cupboards with dishes, purified water and everything you need for making tea and coffee.
