We’re so in love with strong women and the stand they take on issues that affect women every day. While first it was Twinkle Khanna who lashed out at people who judge a woman for her gender, actress Kareena Kapoor has now lashed out at the media who’re after her life ever since she got pregnant.

“Stop making my pregnancy a national casualty,” said the actress in a recent interview to a leading national daily. The gorgeous mommy-to-be also stepped out and flaunted her baby bump for the first time yesterday. Needless to say, she looked as stylish as always.

Ever since Kareena and husband Saif confirmed the pregnancy, media has been abuzz with rumours that Kareena would be going on a maternity break, which have irked Kareena like never before.

“I’m pregnant, not a corpse. And what maternity break? It’s the most normal thing on earth to produce a child. It is high time the media back off, and stop treating me any different than I ever was. Anybody who is bothered shouldn’t work with me… but my work goes on as is, like always. Stop making it a national casualty. We are in 2016, not in the 1800s. Probably, even at that time, people were way more civilised and normal than the way the media is behaving and speculating now,” says Kareena in an interview.

She further mentioned that she is just fed up with people making her pregnancy a big deal. “In fact, it should be a message to a lot of people that marriage or having a family has absolutely nothing to do with my career,” she said.

Kareena currently has over 18 brand endorsement deals, and she is in no way planning to put them on hold. She feels that her brands will love her for what she is.  “They will love me for what I stand for, what I represent, and my talent,” she says.
