I am a mother of 2 daughters aged 4 and 1 year old. Before I got pregnant, I always heard from married friends that they would crave some food during pregnancy. I don't seem to believe it, because if you really didn't like the specific food since small, why would you try it? Until I got pregnant in 2018, my husband ordered teh C which I didn't like to drink before but suddenly I wanted to try it and I became addicted to teh C. Pregnancy cause me very sensitive to smell and taste, turning to become a bloodhound who able to smell things from a mile away, and easily becoming overwhelmed by smells. This can affect the kinds of foods that I prefer to eat or drink. Foods with strong and pungent smells may be total turn-offs, like kopi ice that I like before. At the same time, foods with pleasant, fragrant smells increased my interest to eat or drink. I drink teh C once a week because I am afraid of high blood sugar, until now. My husband will try to order teh C in front of me just to stop triggering me to think it.
As I get pregnant for the second time in 2021, I am addicted to Ipoh-style chicken hor fun soup. From the 20th week of pregnancy until delivery, I ate chicken hor fun soup as lunch almost every day. I remember one night, I suddenly want to eat chicken hor fun soup before sleeping. My husband forced to go out after work just to buy it to me. Now I recall back the moment feel very grateful and lucky that my husband will try his best to fulfill my wishes and his scarification during my pregnancy. Now even though I'm not pregnant, I always order teh C and Chicken Hor Fun Soup. My kids also love it. Delivery is not a good experience to me but I really enjoyed the pregnancy journey because I still have appetite to eat and drink, less vomit. Hormone change, appetite change… Such a miracle in my pregnancy journey!
