I always believed it was natural for a child to be slightly picky with his food. Take my 4-year-old, for instance. Up until today, he despises all green leafy vegetables (his favourite is surprisingly carrots) and refuses to eat anything but noodles or pasta all day long. Yet this does not discourage me from making new, innovative meals for him every day.

Any recipes online with secret or hidden vegetables are most welcome in our household. I also believe that you do not have to eat your vegetables and fruits all the time; you can drink them too! I make smoothies, juices, or present them as desserts to encourage my child to take at least a bite.

Let's just say all that effort was fruitful (pun intended) when he was finally able to tell me what he liked and disliked. By listening to his choice, I don't have to struggle to force him to take his veggies anymore.

When LEGO presented their new LEGO® DUPLO® Garden range, I was more than thrilled to try it! Finally, a visual toy to teach my child that vegetables and fruits are friends, not foes. What I like most about this set is that it is designed to help parents engage their children through creative and imaginative play, making mealtime more fun and relaxed.

Just look at the set! It is designed with fun narratives, bright colours, and engaging characters that include this cute tractor set that my child plays throughout the day and an endless variety of organic vegetables and fruits to start a conversation on a balanced diet and eating habits.

The 10982 LEGO Duplo My First Fruit and Vegetable Tractor set is a super fun way to encourage your child to guess the vegetables that are grown on each set. We built this cute leafy tree that my son now thinks is something he should not fear anymore.

Using this LEGO Duplo My First Organic Garden set also creates new imaginative play between the two of us. The brightly coloured design helps encourage your young ones to cultivate creativity in their role-playing.

What I like the most about this set is that my son starts to pretend that he knows how to garden (although we live in a high-rise condo), using the Duplo bricks. He uses the watering can to water the plants like tomato and carrot and uses the insects such as snails and ladybirds to interact more with his creative side.

Another set that quickly becomes our favourite is 10983 LEGO Duplo My First Organic Market. With this set, my kid learns the shopping process by buying vegetables and fruits on his own. This super educational and fun set also helps my child to explore his self-expression while honing his balance and number recognition skills.

Using this set, I was able to teach him the basics of purchasing and financing, such as how to use pocket money to buy food. Kids are never too young to learn about money, and this set is such an amazing way to teach them the basics that they need before they head to school.

LEGO Duplo has always been my go-to toy to encourage my child for his big start in life. The bricks are designed to support children's natural discovery and learning process, which helps to develop essential life skills such as building confidence, self-expression, and resilience.

It is true that mealtime can be stressful and challenging for all parents, myself included, especially when it comes to teaching them about what food is good for their health. Using the new LEGO Duplo bricks gives me an opportunity to teach my son about nutrition in a fun manner, allowing him to learn more about food through imaginative play.
