I’m sure you are well aware of the road closures for the Merdeka Parade by now. But here’s a reminder in case it slipped your mind. Road closures are happening starting at 6am on 27th August, and will be reopened in stages once the event is over, which is around 1pm on 31st August:
Try to avoid driving into the city during this time as traffic is sure to be worse than usual. Note all the alternate routes to use before you start your journey. If you need to travel in to the city, try using the LRT or monorail services instead, but expect these transportation options to be crowded with people as well.
Authorities have asked for the cooperation of the public to heed orders from traffic officers on duty and obey traffic rules. 150 traffic officers will be deployed out to ensure the National Day 2016 parade and celebrations proceed smoothly.
