Teens Charged with Murder: The 2 Teens Are Still Underage

Two underaged boys, from Taman Sebang Gemilang and Taman Sebang Mutiara, were charged at the Magistrates Court in Alor Gajah on a joint charge of causing the death of a 14 year old in October. If found guilty the duo can face up to 10 years in prison if they are found guilty upon conviction under Section 304(b) of the Penal Code.

Magistrate Mohd Firdaus Saleh set bail at RM5,000 and ordered the boys to report to the nearest police station once a month. Remention was set for November 28.

Teens Charged with Murder: How did it happen?
The incident occurred on October 24 at 2.30pm on the second floor of the Tampin Bus Terminal where the victim, K. Sarayanan, was waiting for the bus with another friend.

The victim was confronted by a group of five schoolboys from another secondary school who often mocked Saravanan’s walking style.

The attack seemed to have started after a series of arguments between the victim and the group. It is learnt that the victim was kicked violently and was stomped on in the brutal attack.

A trader, who was present at the scene of the attack and wished to remain anonymous, said that he only realised the group was attacking someone when he heard them cheering and saw the victim lying unconscious on the floor.

He said that the boys were attempting to resuscitate the victim after they noticed that the victim was foaming at the mouth.

“The group fled the scene when a group of traders ran to the victim’s aid,” he said.

The victim succumbed to brain and spinal injuries on the way to the hospital. He was pronounced dead at 3.20pm at Tampin Hospital.

It was reported that a crowd of approximately 30 people just stood by and watched the attack.

“This is not the first time the delinquent schoolboys had attacked other students as numerous gang fights have been reported at the terminal,” said the trader.

The trader who was in his late 40s, said that the group was known for bullying other people.

The victim’s mother, M. Mala, 36, said her only son complained about the bullying by the group two weeks prior to the incident.
