6 Ways parents can make their babies smarter

Hey, mums and dads! Are you curious to learn how you can give your offspring the keys to success as early as their first year?

Check out these 6 helpful ways that parents can help boost their baby's intelligence!

These simple tips and tricks are sure to help your baby reach a higher level of intelligence, and also bring you closer than ever!

Make eye contact

Make eye contact

Making eye contact with your baby is a great way to help boost their intelligence. According to Psychology Today, making eye contact is a critical part of optimising voluntary movements, and can help to improve your overall memory. Help your baby develop memory more easily by teaching them the importance of gazing into your eyes!

Make the most of diaper duty

Make the most of diaper duty

Most parents don't look forward to diaper changing duty...and we can't blame you. But, if you're going to have roll your sleeves up and handle the dirty business, you might as well make the most of it!

When changing your baby's diaper, try narrating your every action. Not only does this help to build a vocabulary for your baby, but it also acclimates them with the concepts of a routine.

Explore the world around you

Explore the world around you

Take baby along on a nature walk, or to the park and try saying aloud everything that your see, or everything that's going going on around you.

Once again, this is a chance to help build their vocabulary and teaches them about the world around them.

"Go fetch!"

"Go fetch!"

You know when baby tosses his toy, pacifier, or bottle and you have to go fetch it for him? It turns out he's not trying to drive you bonkers!

According to experts, when a baby tosses their toys they're actually making astute observations about the laws of gravity! They're learning how the world around them works by learning about basic physics, as well as expanding on their motor skills.

Peekaboo

Peekaboo

Peekaboo may seem like just a cute little game of hide and seek, but it's actually rather beneficial for your baby!

When you play peekaboo with your baby, your teaching them the basics of a concept called object permanence. In layman's terms, it's the idea that an object continues to exist even when not being observed by someone or something.

Count everything!

Count everything!

Similar to how saying new words aloud can help develop a strong vocabulary, counting does the same. If you constantly count toys, blocks, fingers, toes, etc. your baby will pick up the basics and join in sooner rather than later!
