Running Out of Food Recipes? Check out these 12 Easy Ideas on YouTube!

We've found easy-to-follow kid-friendly recipes for all three mealtimes, including snack time for the little ones!

Home-cooked meals are the best option during these times. With takeout or delivery, we’re never really sure if its completely safe during these unpredictable days. However, having to think of food recipes for breakfast, lunch and dinner for the entire family can be a pain.

Thankfully, because our internet has been our main source of entertainment these days, we’ve found easy-to-follow kid-friendly recipes for all three mealtimes, including snack time for the little ones! Check them out.

Rise and shine it’s breakfast time

It’s the most important meal of the day they say. While some studies suggest that skipping breakfast is not a glaring issue, eating breakfast is crucial for your kids as it provides them with energy and nutrients they need for the day.

1. Banana Bread Toast

Craving for some banana bread but too lazy to go through all THAT hassle? This is the next best option to get a little bread and banana in.

2. French Toast with Cheese

Up your toast game with this easy french toast recipe. Honestly, cheese is everything to a meal at times.

3. Korean Egg Roll

If you have some extra time in the morning, turn your omelette into an egg roll! Tip: Use a non-stick pan so it’s easier to roll up your egg.

It’s time for lunch

Meal two gets a little heavier. It’s when your family is most hungry –  it also gives that extra dose of energy, as well as nutrients we need to get our body and mind working throughout the afternoon. The general rule is that, lunch should be three or four hours after breakfast to keep your blood glucose levels steady and to manage your hunger.

1. Chicken Teriyaki

Slightly sweet, yet, savoury, this teriyaki recipe is a seemingly quick to prepare. Just add a side of steamed veggies and you’re all set for the family. If you want to get in more nutrient content, use brown rice instead of white rice!

2. One Pot Pasta

Remember the craze of one pot pasta? Let’s bring it back because washing the load of dishes is a pain after meals. Here are eight one pot pasta ideas in six minutes!

3. Crispy Salted Egg Yolk Chicken

This recipe is so delicious and it’s just like the ones you eat at restaurants!  The prep might be a little time consuming but if you have time to prepare early, it’s worth the effort.

Yay! Snacktime

Generally, kids need more calories than adults. This is because they are more physically active and their bodies are still developing. However, try to avoid giving them packaged or processed food as these have low nutritional value and can actually make them hungrier! Try these instead.

1. Smiley Potatoes

Put a smile on their faces with these adorable potato smileys! It’s an easy recipe to follow.

2. Pizza Pockets

Pizza without making your own dough? Yes, please! This recipe uses bread that is stuffed with a filling. This can also be customised according to what you have in your pantry.

3. Crunchy Egg Fingers

Finger food is always a winner with the kids. Here’s a unique one that turns steamed egg into fritters!

What’s for dinner?

Ideally, dinner should be three of four hours after lunch and two hours before bedtime to ensure the calories gained are used up. Also, dinner is a great time to get the whole family together to reflect on your day.

1. Chilli Garlic Noodles

If you’re sick of having rice, opt for noodles – it’s a great alternative for when you don’t want to cook a full meal with rice.

2. Masala Butter Chicken

This is a super delicious recipe and it’s not as complicated as it looks – it’s quite filling as well and a good alternative to the usual milky butter chicken.

3. Garlic Butter Pasta

Pasta – it’s a family favourite and a good breakaway from rice. Give your family that variety and try this one out – it’s not that hard, we promise!

With that being said, happy cooking!
