Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

This formed beauty queen is a full-time working mum and is quite traditional in her parenting style. In an e-mail interview to tabloid! she revealed that for her, parenting is all about planning.

She said, “Being a mother is a full time job on its own. To be able to juggle more than one thing at a time takes a lot of planning and family support."

She gave a piece of advice to young mums and added, "Enjoy your motherhood years no matter how consuming it might be. You must always remember that having a child is a blessing. Plan well and give everything its sweet time."

Sushmita Sen

Sushmita Sen

Sushmita Sen is a true combination of beauty with brains. She stuck to her word and adopted her elder daughter almost as soon as she entered the Indian film industry.

But with fame, came constant scrutiny of her parenting style. However, she cracked the code and understood that parenting is all about learning something new about your child and disciplining them.

In an interview, she said, "I started off being a pretty strict mum but I find myself easing off, because now I'm not trying to figure Renee out; she tells me. She had a very strict itinerary because it was the only way to get her to understand discipline."

Kajol Devgan

A doting mum, a bankable star and a quirky wife, Kajol seems to have it all. But this hasn't come easy. She has worked all her life to be a successful working mum and if there is one thing she sticks to while parenting, it is her ability to discipline her kids.

In an interview she was quoted as saying, ""The one golden rule that I have in my house is - As Momma Says. What I say is written in stone and there are no explanations thereafter.

"She adds, "I am proud of the fact that my kids listen to 70% of the things I say. The other 30% is open to fights and compromises, but we deal with it. I think it's a good ratio."

Karisma Kapoor

Karisma Kapoor

Even after having her marriage publicly scrunitised, Karisma Kapoor has come out on top of things as far her parenting skills are concerned.

A strict mother, by her own admission, she has on many occasions revealed that her idea of parenting is simple- keep it honest and transparent.

“I won’t say I am a strict mother, but discipline is important. Timing and routine are important for kids. My children also look forward to that," she emphasised.

“I think it is important to be a friend to your kids. But it is also equally important to set boundaries. My mother was a strong influence and so was my dad. My mom was my friend whom I couldn’t cross," she said in an interview.

Madhuri Dixit-Nene

The dancing diva with a million dollar smile is quite the doting mum. From taking her kids to regular hikes to grocery shopping, she has done it all.

Her primary concentration now is on her kids' education and of course, health.

In an interview, she was once quoted as saying, "There is one thing that I am really strict about and that is (making sure that they are) brushing teeth twice a day. No matter how tired they are or how late they arrive after attending birthday parties, I make sure that they brush their teeth."That seems apt for the woman who is famous for her million dollar smile.

As for parenting him this adorable mum says, “Like the gurus in Gurukul, I had to improve on myself for my son to emulate. For instance, for my son to be fit, I too had to be fit and joined the gym."
