There’s no hiding the fact that Pokemon Go has become a worldwide sensation, capturing the hearts of both men and women, people both young and old.
Among them was pregnant mother Kaitlyn Shelton.
However, on July 15, the game has almost cost her the life of her unborn child when a car ran her over while she played on her phone.

“Shelton, who was 38-weeks pregnant, woke up in hospital with cuts, bruises, and tire marks, and was told an emergency C-section was performed to save her baby’s life,” said a Global News report.
Speaking to KCTV, Kaitlyn recalled the hospital forcefully tying her down a bed because she couldn’t stop freaking out.
Thankfully, after thorough examination of her and her baby, doctors said both will be just fine.
According to the 18-year-old mother, she was out playing with her boyfriend and sister when a van purposefully rushed by them.
While many accidents related to the game have to do with players not paying attention to their surroundings, this case was different.
Kaitlyn said that the van ran her over on purpose.
“When they drove by I asked ‘what is your problem?’” said Ashley Shelton, Kaitlyn’s sister, to WDAF.
“I remember seeing her get hit and she landed on the ground. That van reversed some more and ran her legs over,” she added. “She was faced down, belly down, I honestly did not know if my sister was alive or dead at that point.”

It was a great thing then that the pregnant mother had been with her friends; if it weren’t for them she and her baby would have suffered gravely.
“My boyfriend saved me, he did help me,” Kaitlyn said. “He pulled me out from underneath the car.”
In the wake of this incident, she remains hopeful that local police will be able to find and identify the driver of the van.
“I want the person to be caught for everyone else — that way nobody else is hit and left on the side of the road like I was,” she said.
