8 Best Places to go for Babymoon
theAsianparent reader Cheryl Loh and her husband decided to go on a babymoon trip when she was 6 months pregnant with her second child last year. As the trip coincided with her birthday, the couple decided to bring their eldest daughter along. “We wanted to go for a trip to relax and bond with our eldest girl before our second child was born. We stayed at Bintan Lagoon Resort where we spent a lot of time in the swimming pool and on the beach (our girl loves the water!). My husband and I also treated ourselves to a relaxing massage during the trip," Cheryl shares.
If you’re looking for ideas on what to do during your babymoon in Bali, perhaps you could follow the footsteps of theAsianparent reader, Cindy Gan who went on a babymoon to the Island of Gods last July to catch the Kite Festival. Besides that, Cindy also did some swimming and had a prenatal massage during the trip, and enjoyed some beach time with hubby and their baby in her tummy.
You can shop to your heart’s content at local markets like Chatuchak, Pratunam and Saphan Phut Night market, or go for mid to high-end shopping malls like Siam Paragon, Mahboonkrong (MBK Center) and Platinum Fashion Mall. And when you’re feeling exhausted with all the shopping, walking and haggling, there are plenty of spas and massage centres at every corner in the bustling city — perfect for de-stressing and relaxing!
4. Da Nang
First-time mum Tina George suggests Fusion Maia Spa Resort for couples who are looking to go on a babymoon to Da Nang. One of the top-rated spa resorts in the port city, rates at Fusion Maia include buffet breakfast and 2 spa treatments a day. According to Tina, you can also request for additional spa treatments during your stay there, as long as the spa is not fully booked during that time. “The spa treatments available to me were limited [at that time] due to my pregnancy, but I had a great time nonetheless," she adds.
For Sazlina Kimpton and her husband, the decision to choose Maldives as their babymoon destination came naturally as they both had the paradise island resort at the top of their list of ‘places to go.’ And what better time to make the trip than when they were pregnant with their second child last year!
“We knew that it’s either now or never, as the impending journey to parenthood may keep us busy for a while," Sazline shares. During the trip, the couple stayed at a lovely atoll called Ohuveli Beach & Spa resort, where they enjoyed snorkelling, fishing, swimming and simply relaxing their days away. “We had one of those huts on water, and it was truly magical as the sea was literally at our doorstep. Love to revisit the resort again, perhaps when the kids are much older!" Sazlina enthuses.
Another great thing about London is that it’s just a short train ride away to other amazing cities in the United Kingdom. First-time mum Yong Ying and her husband grabbed the opportunity to make a trip down to Old Trafford in Manchester to catch the Manchester United vs Liverpool football match during their babymoon. “My hubby is a loyal supporter of Man U, and I’m also a big Man U fan. We really enjoyed the match, although it was very cold and snowing at that time. Thankfully, I didn’t have much problems adjusting to the weather — I made sure to keep myself hydrated and I slathered on lots of moisturiser."
