Despite numerous treatments in order to battle cancer, he and his family has accepted fate when they were told that no other medical treatments are available to fight their son’s illness.
The smiling face of Mohd Danish Maarif became viral after netizens shared his picture as a campaign to spread joy to little Danish in his fight against bone cancer.
A partnership that was instituted by his mother Shahriza Wan Wan Ab Rahman, hoped that the people could help to bring her son to Legoland has gotten the attention of many social media users.
Unfotunately, due to her son’s condition, it is difficult for him to visit LEGOLand as the 11 year old boy was too weak for the journey from Kuala Selangor to Johor.
Hence a project called ‘Project Legoland for Danish’ was launched by Shahriza and some friends to bring elements of LEGOLand to Danish. People are encouraged to bring as many of their LEGO creations to Danish to cheer him up and to make him feel like he’s in LEGOLand.
Originally the idea was to give the Danish a ‘feel’ as if it were in Legoland, without actually having to go there.
Shahriza efforts not only got the attention of netizens, her project even got the attention of the Queen of Johor, Raja Zarith Sofia Sultan Idris Shah.
Her Majesty shared her status on her official Facebook account with the hashtag #FightLikeJalil in rememberance of her own son; Tunku Abdul Jalil Iskandar Ibni Tunku Ibrahim Ismail who passed away due to cancer.
Recently, based on Shahriza’s Facebook status update, Danish was discharged from the hospital three days ago for him to rest. All Chemotherapy treatment has been stopped; the scheduled operation has also been cancelled because the cancer cells had spread throughout his body.
