With the discovery of paedophile Richard Huckle this year, we thought we have seen the last ofA 20-year-old jobless youth was apprehended in Kuala Lumpur 2 weeks ago for the possession of child pornography following a tip-off by Taiwanese police.
Paedophile , Victims Were Aged 9 to 13
Engaging his victims through social chat and online gaming websites before befriending them, it is believed that he had groomed almost 40 children aged between 9 and 13 to strip down for him.
He was said to have lured his victims to pose in the nude during video chat sessions, which he discreetly recorded.
Among the 40 victims was a 13 year old Malaysian girl from Johor, while the rest were all from Taiwan, a Taiwanese news portal reported.
IP Traced to Malaysia
Taiwanese police was tracking the suspect in cyberspace for weeks before tracing the IP address which belonged to his cousin, in Malaysia. Local authorities were alerted and the suspect was arrested on 14 October and was remanded.
The youth had been making money by sharing the recordings of his victims to suspected paedophiles online and pornography websites.
CID chief SAC of the Kuala Lumpur Police, Encik Rusdi Mohd Isa said that investigations are ongoing. Material seized from the suspect such as computers are being examined by forensics police for evidence. They are working closely with their Taiwanese counterpart to solve the case.
We Need to End Sexual Grooming
Child grooming is befriending and establishing an emotional connection with a child, to lower the child’s inhibitions for child sexual abuse.
It lures minors into trafficking of children, illicit businesses such as child prostitution, or the production of child pornography. This is not illegal in Malaysia. It is not a crime until the abuser has committed an act of sexual abuse. We really need to push the government for new laws against child sexual grooming.
Let’s end this. Pledge your support today.
